A NASA turbofan warning benchmark for Sentinel
NASA C-MAPSS turbofan data is a useful benchmark because it separates numerical life prediction from operational warning policy.
The TightLoop Sentinel turbofan card reports a neuromorphic warning layer working beside a deep life-prediction model, with an earlier maintenance warning of +7.45 cycles and controlled false alerts.
The important idea is fusion. A deep RUL model can remain the numerical predictor. Sentinel can act as a warning layer that reads the same trajectory and contributes early warning, confirmation, or guarded lead recovery.
That is closer to how a product would be deployed. A customer may already have an RUL model or condition monitor. The question is whether a second layer can improve operational timing without creating unacceptable false alarms.
The turbofan benchmark is therefore a bridge between academic RUL metrics and plant-facing maintenance decisions.
