nmFUSION and fusion-edge instability delay
nmFUSION explored a neuromorphic control idea inside a BOUT++ fusion-edge instability setting. The reported result was not a full reactor-control product. It was an experiment where neuromorphic runs delayed runaway stress from simulation time 50 to roughly 72-76 in eight of nine runs.
The reason this remains relevant to TightLoop is conceptual. Fusion-edge instability is a feedback-heavy, state-dependent control problem. Small changes can accumulate. A residual layer that recognizes precursor dynamics may be useful if it can act early without destabilizing the baseline.
That is also why the experiment should be interpreted carefully. A simulation delay is not a deployment claim. It does not prove plant readiness. It shows that the residual-control architecture was tested outside simple toy motion examples.
The continuing product value is indirect: nmFUSION helped shape the idea that TightLoop should focus on structured residual dynamics in systems where the baseline already exists.
